Mendy Nehrbass was born and raised in Southern California. She is board certified as Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nursing Practitioners (AANP). She has worked in healthcare for over 25 years in various settings, including the Operating Room and Urgent Care, both stateside and abroad, and in both urban and rural settings.
Mendy lived for a decade on a remote island in the South Pacific, where she worked with the local community on literacy skills and translation of the New Testament into Nɨvhaar- the language of Southwest Tanna. She also had the privilege of providing healthcare to the local community, which is where she developed a passion for culturally competent care.
Whether it’s overseas or stateside, she loves what she does and is humbled to be a part of people’s lives during some of their most vulnerable moments. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, reading, anthropology, linguistics, music, and learning.
